"SPECIAL WISHES" Birthday Program.....

Doesn't everyone like to get mail? It's fun to run to the mailbox and have that special letter or card waiting just for you. And don't you like to receive that extra special treat on your birthday?

"Special Wishes" is a birthday program for children with special needs that started in 2008 by two volunteers from Burr Ridge. They found Simple Gifts online and came to us with so many great ideas to contribute to kids in local communities.

On their birthday, a child with special needs will receive a birthday card and a gift card to a local establishment. Depending on which gift card you receive, you can buy yourself a new outfit, buy that toy you were waiting for, get a birthday cake, take your family out for ice cream or run around at Chuck E Cheese or McDonald's Playland. Whatever it may be, it is a little extra something to put a smile on the face of a child on his/her birthday....a small reminder that you are special and can enjoy the treat sent your way.

We are always looking for sponsors in this program - you can sponsor a child one time or take a month of the year and send a treat to a few children.
