Kami was adopted by Donna in May 2001 when she was 3 days old. She was strong through two stomach surgeries when she was 4 and 7 months old. She is very healthy now and in 4th grade in the Oswego-Aurora School District..
In KamiLand, there is a world full of laughter, smiles, play, amazement at the small things in life, development, friendship and love. It is a land where when you hear that first laugh from her, it travels all the way to your heart and stays with you forever.
Kami is a beautiful little girl who knows she has Down syndrome and knows when other kids have similar features. She is proud of herself just as God made her and has smiles that span our nation. She is learning how to read, count, do simple math, spell words and learn her address. She loves ICarly, Hannah Montana, Barbie, watching TV, swimming and writing on white boards. Kami enjoys events at Gigi's Playhouse, an awareness & activity center for children with Down syndrome and their families in Aurora.
